Better Up — Upwork Client Intelligence Extension
Better Up reads only publicly visible information on Upwork job pages you actively visit — client history, hiring stats, job activity, and posted skills. No login credentials, private messages, financial details, or personal data are ever accessed.
All extracted Upwork data is stored temporarily in your browser's local memory (via chrome.storage.local) and in-memory cache only. Data is associated with the browser tab and is cleared when the tab is closed or the extension is reloaded.
No Upwork or personal data is ever written to external servers or persistent disk storage beyond what Chrome's storage API provides.
When you submit feedback through the extension, your message, email, feedback type, screenshots (if any), browser info, and extension version are sent to a secure server to create a support ticket. This data is only used to address your feedback.
Better Up sends a single anonymous event ("popup opened") to Google Analytics 4 each time the popup is opened. This event is associated with a randomly generated install ID — never your name, email, Upwork account, browsing history, or any identifiable information.
Google may estimate your approximate country or city as part of their standard analytics service. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
The only data transmitted externally is a single anonymous "popup opened" event sent to Google Analytics using a randomly generated install ID — no Upwork data, no personal information, and no browsing activity.
You can clear all stored extension data at any time via chrome://extensions → Better Up → Details → Clear data.
You can uninstall the extension at any time to completely opt out of all data collection including anonymous analytics.
